1. Market Behavior & Drivers
This market trended downward from a starting probability of 14.0% to a resolution price of 1.0%. The price traded within a range of 1.0% to 34.0%, peaking mid-month before collapsing around the event date. Two significant price drops defined the market's resolution. On July 24, the probability fell 13.0 percentage points from 29.0% to 16.0%. This move appears to be linked to social media activity that diminished the perceived likelihood of a "Movie Star" mention. The final, decisive drop occurred on July 25, when the price fell 15.0 percentage points to 1.0%. This collapse was reportedly driven by news reports that confirmed the content of President Trump's speech, which did not include the terms "Cheat," "Cheater," or "Cheating."
Total volume of 189,849 contracts indicates a liquid market with significant participant conviction. Trading activity persisted through the final price collapse, with 172.63 contracts traded on July 25 as the market priced in the outcome. The 34.0% probability served as a clear resistance level, while the 1.0% mark acted as the final price floor upon resolution. The price action suggests market sentiment was initially uncertain but leaned toward a higher probability of the event occurring as the price rose from 14.0% on July 11 to 25.0% by July 19. Sentiment then reversed sharply, with the final two days showing the market efficiently processing real-time information and news flow to arrive at a conclusive and accurate outcome.

Current Context
President Donald Trump spoke at the rescheduled 2026 White House Correspondents' Association dinner. The event, originally set for April 25, 2026, was postponed after an assassination attempt involving a gunman outside where President Trump and other dignitaries were present [1][2][3][4]. It was successfully rescheduled and held on July 24, 2026, at the Waldorf Astoria [5][1][6][2]. This scaled-down gathering hosted approximately 700 attendees [1][2].
Trump's hour-long speech combined cordial remarks with pointed criticism [5]. During his address, he specifically targeted several journalists by name, including Kaitlan Collins, Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, and Josh Dawsey [5][1][6]. Trump also made critical comments about political figures like Joe Biden, while joking about a potential fourth term [5][1][6]. His tone shifted during the speech, beginning lighthearted but becoming more serious and bitter, with some jokes not landing and met with audience silence [5][1][2].

3. Significant Price Movements
Notable price changes detected in the chart, along with research into what caused each movement.
Outcome: Cheat / Cheater / Cheating
📉 July 25, 2026: 52.0pp drop
Price decreased from 53.0% to 1.0%
What happened: The primary driver of the 52.0 percentage point drop for the "Cheat / Cheater / Cheating" outcome was the confirmed content of President Trump's White House Correspondents' Dinner address on July 24, 2026. News reports on July 25, 2026, detailed Trump's remarks, which focused on condemning political violence, praising the Secret Service, and criticizing the media and political opponents with phrases like "fake news" [1][2][3][4]. Crucially, there is no evidence provided that he used the specific phrasing "Cheat / Cheater / Cheating" in his speech [5][6][7][8]. This direct confirmation from traditional news outlets that the predicted phrase was not spoken likely caused the market adjustment, rendering social media activity irrelevant as a primary driver.
Outcome: Movie Star
📉 July 24, 2026: 13.0pp drop
Price decreased from 29.0% to 16.0%
What happened: The 13.0 percentage point drop for the "Movie Star" outcome on July 24, 2026, appears to be primarily driven by social media activity pertaining to Indian celebrity activism and Bollywood engagement [9][10]. On that date, social media trends such as "Gen Z Gives Stars a NEET REEL-TY Check" were prominent, suggesting a broader public re-evaluation or discussion of celebrity status [9]. This social media activity coincided with the price move and is explicitly noted as a more likely driver than President Trump's remarks at the White House Correspondents' Dinner [9]. Therefore, social media was the primary driver, originating from an external cultural context rather than the market's stated event.
Outcome: AI / Artificial Intelligence
📈 July 20, 2026: 16.0pp spike
Price increased from 24.0% to 40.0%
What happened: The primary driver for the 16.0 percentage point spike in "AI / Artificial Intelligence" as a predicted topic was the traditional news announcement of Beijing-based Moonshot AI's Kimi K3 model release on July 20, 2026 [11][12][13]. This event coincided directly with the market movement, causing significant declines in global semiconductor and tech stocks and increasing volatility in tech markets due to AI competition concerns [11][12]. The widespread market impact of the Kimi K3 launch likely fueled speculation that AI would be a prominent topic for public discussion, potentially by President Trump, at the upcoming White House Correspondents' Dinner [11][12]. Social media was not identified as a primary driver based on the provided information.

4. Market Data
Contract Snapshot
Here is a summary of the contract rules:
1. What exactly triggers a YES resolution: The market resolves to "Yes" if Donald Trump says "AI / Artificial Intelligence," or its plural/possessive form, during the White House Correspondents' Dinner originally scheduled for July 24, 2026. This must occur as part of a live, televised or streamed event open to the press, with Trump speaking in an official capacity. 2. What triggers a NO resolution: The market resolves to "No" if Donald Trump does not use the specified phrase. Additionally, if the event is cancelled, fails to meet the payout criteria (e.g., Trump not speaking officially), or any other circumstance prevents normal resolution, then all other markets will resolve to "No" and the "Event does not qualify" market resolves to "Yes." 3. Key dates/deadlines: The White House Correspondents' Dinner is originally scheduled for July 24, 2026. The market opened on June 8, 2026, and will close either after the event occurs or by August 8, 2026, with a projected payout 30 minutes after closing. If the event is postponed and rescheduled within 14 calendar days, markets remain open. 4. Any special settlement conditions: Resolution is primarily based on video of the dinner, supplemented by official transcripts if needed. Only statements made by Trump in an official capacity during the live broadcast qualify, excluding private conversations, archival footage, or content from separate events. Trading is prohibited for individuals with material, non-public information or those employed by the listed source agencies.

| Entertainment Type | Mentalist (Oz Pearlman) [4][7] |
Trump's 2026 White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) dinner performance significantly diverged from presidential norms, notably contrasting with the traditional approaches of Presidents Obama and Biden, as well as his own prior non-attendance during his first term [7][9][8].
